Young men tops unemployment statistics in Rogaland – Haugesund Avis

Unemployment among young people in Rogaland is the highest in the country. Nearly one in ten young men between 20 and 29 years are unemployed or in action.

eMPLOYMENT: Monday visited Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) and Labour and social Affairs anniken hauglie (H) unemployed in Stavanger.

– It is no coincidence that we are here in day. The figures for Rogaland is very high. We see that youth unemployment is high, and that many of those who lose their jobs have not completed high school or have low skills, Hauglie- to Stavanger Aftenblad.

40 percent of the unemployed have not completed high school, for them it will be harder to get a job.

– Forward it becomes harder and harder to get a job without formal qualifications. More and more jobs will require some form of expertise, says director Truls Nordahl in Nav Rogaland.

Unemployment in Rogaland was in late May 4.3 percent, compared with 2.9 percent elsewhere in the country. For people between 20 and 24 years in the county’s unemployment rate of 5.2 percent. Two-thirds of the young unemployed are men.
