– An important victory for us

Risk of closure
When a strike would following nine airports had to close for ordinary traffic from Friday morning: Alta, Bergen, Forde, Haugesund, Honningsvag, Leknes, Å, Sandnessjøen and Aalesund.
Also the staff at Avinor’s headquarters would have been affected.
A total of 310 employees of Avinor and Avinor Air Navigation would have been taken out in strike. 234 of them are members of trade union Norwegian Civil Service, while the remaining belong to YS.
Controversy over pension
Controversy over pension is the main reason that wage settlements fell to mediation.
Employee organizations have in their deals right to negotiate retirement. Range and Avinor throughout the wage settlement demanded the authority to unilaterally change employees’ pensions.
Olsen says she is happy.
– We are happy to come in port with a good deal for our members in Avinor. It is crucial for us that we reached agreement on pensions ahead, where the right to strike are stuck.
The settlement has a budget 2.4 percent. The wage settlement in line with the rest of the community.
