Warns wounded bear Roros – VG

Police in Trondelag asking people to stay indoors in Ridalen north Roros after a hunting party in the night injury shot a bear. Wanted the damaged bear with both people and helicopter.

County of Sor-Trondelag has granted hunting permits to bear, who stayed north Roros area between lakes Rien and Riast Rivers located at County Road 705.

– the police were contacted by hunters bit before the clock 04 in the night. Then we had the hunting party two hours earlier fired at the bear, and feared that one was wounded.



Alerted by SMS

We have then assumed that we have a wounded a disservice to do. We are uncertain about the extent of injury and damage potential bear can have for people, and therefore found it to alert people in the area. We urge people to stay indoors or leave the area, said operations in Trøndelag Police, Stig Roger Olsen.

He says police have implemented a number of measures in order to warn people in the area after they got the message the possible injured bear. It is sent out SMS alert to cabin owners in the area. The fire department in Roros has patrolled the county road 705 that runs between Røros and Tydal. A police patrol is also heading to the area, so they should be able to alert others who are around Øversjøen in Ridalen, where the bear was fire at night.



Helicopter

– we also have access to a police conducting searches in area, and hope that we can locate the bear. Hunters who ran bear hunting is also in the area and continue the hunt. If someone driving along the road watching the bear, we hope of course that they notify the police so that we can get relayed information to hunters who runs wounded hunting, says Olsen.

– Assuming you that the bear is dangerous for people?

– We are, as I said unsure harmfulness bear has, but has chosen to warn people who are in the area, says Stig Roger Olsen.
