There was a man who died in the frontal impact on E6 north of Olsborg in Målselv.

It confirms operations manager Morten Augensen by Troms Police Nordlys at 20 o’clock.

The road is still closed, but he hopes that they may be able to open the European road for traffic again maybe in 21.00 o’clock.

– but I promise not. Traffic accident group to NPRA and our investigators are on site. Towing is also there, says Augensen.

It was at 15.45 that passenger car and a truck collided around Teigen in Takelvdalen in Målselv. There was one person in each car and one of them, a man was killed.

Police efforts manager on site, Carl Oskar Tømmerås told Nordlys around at 17.30 that there are no other injuries after the accident.

He would not say anything about the deceased.

– We have no idea accident cause. We will interrogate witnesses to establish what has happened, says Tømmerås?

– This is the newly laid asphalt and wet roadway here. Could it be the reason?

– I will not speculate on any cause. We will investigate this, says Thomassen.

The road is still closed.

Nordlys reporter Torgeir Braathen is on site. He said the accident happened at the bottom of Takelvdalen.

– The accident happened at Teigen. It’s a turn here, but the accident appears to have happened after the bend. The car has come south. The other vehicle is a trailer.

The traffic directed by Military Police in the south of the accident site so that one gets turned and driven back.

NPRA recommended detour via Øverbygd on County Road 854, fv 87 and County Road 857.
