It appears the Ministry of Defence’s internal calculations, writing class struggle.

The official estimate for the purchase, operation and updates of 52 combat aircraft category F-35 is at 261.3 billion crowns over a period of 30 years. But a graded analysis of the costs calculates the total price to 286.6 billion kroner, corresponding to a cost crack on 25.5 billion.

The price increase is due to the dollar exchange rate has risen sharply since the original calculations were made in 2012 – with an average exchange rate of 6.47 million. In uncertainty analysis for 2015 as class struggle has disclosed, the Ministry has revised upwards price of 7.89. Since the dollar has risen further.

Communication Manager Change Lunde in the fighter program emphasizes that it is currency, and not a general cost inflation, which is the problem for the aircraft purchase.

“Match planes are like the rest of the defense very exposed to currency risk, and there we can not forget. Our calculations show that the cost of operating and upgrading F-35 actually is likely to be lower than expected, but this estimate shows, a sustained high exchange deduct costs up again, “writes Lunde in an email.
