Two German fishermen missing in Rogaland – Dagbladet.no

Two German tourists fish are reported missing after they came back from fishing off Egersund in Rogaland Sunday.

The two German men, 63 to 74 years old, was reported missing at 0:30 am on Monday.

They were last seen at sea off the Northern Eigerøya at 17 o’clock Sunday afternoon by another boat who chose to go to shore when the weather worsened.

– They were reported missing by hyttenaboene, some other Germans who are also in Norway to fish, then they came back from the trip, said Bjorn Jarle AAMLID, duty rescue leader at the Rescue Coordination Centre Southern Norway NTB.

The missing were out in a 15-foot open boat with an outboard motor. Coastguard rescue skate, one pilot boat and a rescue helicopter is put into the search for the two fishing tourists. Exploration crews will initially concentrate the search from Northern Eigerøy and north. It is bad weather in the search area on Monday night, blowing gale winds up against stiff breeze, and it’s rough seas, according to exploration crews.
