- Right-proposal gives parents less choice – Aftenposten

Right Top Kristin Vinje believes the 15 billion the state spends on allowances each year should be used in an entirely different way. In Aftenposten Tuesday she suggests removing child benefit, and instead make kindergarten and after-school care (SFO) free for all children.

This is her calculation:

  • The state currently uses 15 billion a year in allowances.
  • ‘payments in kindergartens is currently at 7 billion a year.
  • parents pay in-school program is 3 billion a year.

KrF: Child benefit should also be increased

Vinje leader’s Conservative education spokesperson and head a party committee to hammer out the party’s knowledge policy before elections in 2017. But the proposal meets a cold shoulder from coalition party KrF.

– Tying support to families with children up to about using nursery or SFO thinks I’m being totally wrong. It does not strengthen families’ freedom of choice, rather the opposite, says Tyvand Aftenposten.

– We want more freedom of choice for families with children, and I thought Right also did? asks KrF representative.

He believes we should consider whether the child benefit will be increased, since the benefit has stood still at the same kronesum for many years.

– Child benefit should be a universal supplementation for all children, linked to that one gets higher expenses having children, says Tyvand.

Norwegian Women and Family Association: – deprive parents of choice

The leader of Norway’s Woman – and family associations Elisabeth Rusdal joins Christian Democrat criticism.

– The act would remove child benefit and replacing it with free core in kindergartens and SFO is to deprive parents of choice. Meanwhile helps to weaken the families with children who are struggling financially, she says.

– This group has nonetheless often reduced household payments in kindergartens and SFO. That means that by removing child benefit get less money for other things to the children, she points out.

Rusdal think it could be a good idea to introduce a scheme where parents themselves must apply for child benefit allowance, so those who do not need support could refrain from asking for it. Today will transfer automatically after the baby is born.

SV: – Targeted measures to increase child poverty

Also SV Audun Lybakken was quick and took distance from the part of Vinjes proposals involves cuts in child benefit.

“To remove child benefit is by far the most targeted measure you can implement to increase child poverty,” he writes on Twitter.

Lysbakken adding that he think kindergarten should be free for the parents, but that this should not happen at the cuts in child benefit.

Left: Yes to free kindergartens and SFO

From Left comes more positive tones.

“Seems to have heard it before,” writes Left leader Grande on Twitter, adding a link to the speech she held at the Liberal national convention in Tromsø in April, where she advocated that kindergarten should be free .

Deputy Iselin Nybø (V) in the Education Committee would like the proposal to free nursery and after-school welcome.

– Left and Trine Skei Grande has previously advocated the possibility of free day care and after-school care so it is good that the Conservatives also thinking in the courts, says Nybø.

She believes free daycare and after-school care (SFO) will result in a social cohesion and get a life that fits in with people’s time. But she would not say if the removal of child benefit is the right agent.

– But I reject nothing at this time, says Nybø.

Left writes in his program that the party will differentiate child benefit so that those with income receive more allowance while those with high incomes are less than they are today.

FRP spokesperson: Will need to try child benefit

Committee Colleague Bente Thorsen (FRP) believe it need to make changes to the current allowance, but she is not to remove it.

– Child benefit is fixed in the Progressive Party program. My personal opinion is that it can be means tested by income or other specified criteria in the long term, says Thorsen.

Nor supports her proposal to introduce free nursery and SFO.

– SFO is a somewhat families are offered, and which is a form of child care with good and happy school-related content, and it should be with a deductible. If free SFO should be mandatory, then it will be a form of full-day as FRP is for. We are neither for free kindergarten, but fully supports that families with lower incomes receive reduced payments, so it is today, says Thorsen.

Ap-range proposed cuts in child benefit

A party choice in Labor suggested before this spring’s national convention that parts of the child benefit should be cut and used to finance the introduction of a school feeding in primary schools.

The proposal for the introduction of school feeding should funded by the business cuts in child benefit, however, dropped at the Congress .
