Dead mouse found in peanut butter – Dagbladet.no

60 glass ‘crunchy’ peanut butter withdrawn after someone found parts of a dead mouse in the product. There is danger of suffocation if the peanut butter eaten, type NTB.

It is “Organic crunchy peanut butter” from Suma with best before date 10 April 2016 which is withdrawn from Kinsarvik Fruit Sales AS, according to the FSA.

– There are health risks of eating the product, and bones can provide potential choking hazard, writes audit.

– This is typically a product that is consumed by children. Large bones of mice can cause choking hazard, in addition to the risk of infection mice in food represents, said senior inspector Jenny Mehammer FSA Dagbladet.

She emphasizes that mouse discoveries like this in food occurs very rarely.

– This article is from the Netherlands and the discovery was made in England. We have not received any reports of findings from Norwegian consumers, says Mehammer.

The 60 lenses have been on sale in shops in Oslo, Bærum, Kongsberg, Sandnes, Stavanger, Bergen, Stjørdal and Harstad.

The peanut paste is produced in the Netherlands and imported by Kinsarvik Fruit Sales AS. The importer asks consumers who have bought the product to throw it or return it to the store.
