Six injured in fire in Bergen – Romsdals Budstikke

The fire department received after half an hour the fire under control that erupted in Lower Hamburgersmauet right in the center of Bergen on Thursday night. Six people were injured.

At 23.30 o’clock lit the fire brigade the fire was extinguished, and that it would progress after quenching into the night.

The fire department reported large fire in wooden buildings in the area, located around 300 meters from the pier and harbor.

– We got the message at 22.36 on fire in Lower Hamburgersmauet. Status now is that there are six persons injured. We have 22 evacuees. The time 23.05 notified the fire department the fire was under control. At that time there were no reports of spreading risk, said operations manager Arve Samsonsen in the Hordaland police.

It was first reported smoke from a house, but after a short time it developed into a major fire. The fire department searched the affected houses and made sure that there were not more people than the six injured who was accounted for.

Three of the injured were sent to Haukeland University Hospital for treatment, while the other three escaped with a visit to the emergency room.

Besides the six who were injured, were evacuated 22 people.

It was late Thursday night not possible to estimate how much damage the buildings had suffered.
