Three fish tourists found dead – NRK

A message about the accident came at 20.08. It was initiated searches, and all the wood that was missing, was found dead.

– We received notification clock 20.08 that a boat with anglers should have gone down, and that there would be three people in sea. We then sent two helicopters from Banak in Lakselv and Hammerfest, and lifeboat “Gjert Wilhelmsen.”



Probably not Norwegians

The cause of the accident is not known. The captain of the lifeboat ‘Gjert Wilhelmsen “Gunleif Westermann, says to NRK that it was good weather, but a little heavy seas in the area where the accident occurred.

According to Aftenposten had fishing tourists rented boat in Gjesvær on Magerøya, a popular spot for foreign fishermen. Accident location is just north of Gjesvær.

The AIBN and the police are informed of the accident and has started its investigations, informs the Rescue Coordination Centre in northern Norway told NRK. The boat will be a smaller yacht, said rescue leader Rune Danielsen.
