It was an American man in his 60′s who perished. He received medical treatment at the University Hospital of North Norway.
The man died sent last night and police were later informed of this.
– The case is handled on by us one undersøkelsessak. There is nothing to suggest that there has been a punishable offense, said police lawyer Marianne Mora Eskildsen in Helgeland police.

– The diver was eventually picked up by helicopter. He was alive and is now at University Hospital of North Norway (UNN), where he receives treatment.

JRCC Northern Norway (HRS) says National Geographic Explorer – shortened NG Explorer – is a mini cruise earmarked sports.
– The ship goes from pole to pole, and was traveling from the south and north, said rescue leader Kjell Johansen told NRK.
Previously used by the Norwegian Coastal Voyage
The ship National Geographic Explorer is owned by American Lindblad Expeditions, and was built in Norway in 1982, according to Wikipedia.
The ship has three decks, taking 148 guests and is a former Norwegian Coastal Voyage ship.
