The profiled Islamist Arfan Bhatti, who is charged with assault against a woman, is in custody for four weeks. He has appealed the decision.
Bhatti imposed letter and restraining the first week of detention period, which is in line with the prosecutor’s contention, reports Nettavisen.
37-year-old appealed the decision on the spot.
– I not acknowledge guilt and desires me released, said Bhatti under remand hearing in the Oslo City Court, where the judge revoked abstracts ban.
He was Thursday night arrested and charged with assault, covered by Penal Code section 228, second paragraph. Police petitioned him imprisoned because they believe there is a risk of recurrence and destruction of evidence.
According to TV2 is Bhatti charged with violence against a woman. The court emphasized that while the victim called AMK first time, she said she was thrown around by the defendant. Later she called up and said that she had tripped over the feet of the accused, and not become a victim of violence, reports TV2.
In March this year, the Bhatti in Oslo District Court sentenced to ten months in jail for domestic violence, of which four months were suspended. He was convicted of beating her son and daughter a number of times in connection with that they were reading from the Koran.
Bhatti was also accused of having been violent towards police during an arrest in 2012, but this point, he was acquitted.
