Bus fire in Gudvanga Tunnel – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): The burning of a bus in Gudvanga Tunnel on E16 in Sogn og Fjordane. Firefighters are sent in helicopters, including six man sent from Hordaland.

According to NRK informs the Public Roads Administration that the bus is 500 meters inside the tunnel, which is evacuated. The smoke goes towards Bergen, and people are asked to select other way out.

Nina Andal, duty manager at the 110 exchange in Sogn og Fjordane, told BT that all passengers of the bus has come out of the tunnel.

– What we know is that there has occurred a fire in the tunnel. We have closed this and Flenjatunnelen located adjacent so that there will be too much cars in it, says traffic operator Nina Heggernes at Road Traffic Management Centre to Dagbladet.

NPRA has no camera where the fire will have occurred, but says it does not seem to have been very heavy traffic in the tunnel.

– We’ve seen some trucks, but they seem to have managed to turn around and get out says Heggernes.

Gudvanga Tunnel linking Gudvangen with Wonder Valley. The tunnel is 11.4 km long, and Norway’s second longest road tunnel.
