Mullah Krekar prosecuted for incitement to criminal acts – Aftenposten

Public Prosecutions requesting that the public prosecutor takes charges against Krekar for violating section 140 of the Penal Code, which deals with incitement to criminal acts, says Krekar lawyer, Brynjar Meling, told the newspaper.

The indictment comes in the nick of time. On Friday namely Krekar in detention meeting in Oslo District Court. He was on June 19 detained for eight weeks.

Krekar was arrested on February 26 this year, after after an interview with NRK, where he claimed the indictment called for a criminal offense. Later, the indictment expanded to include threats.

Mullah Krekar comes with strong statements in Wednesday’s interview with NRK, a month after he was released from Kongsvinger prison where he was serving a sentence of two years and ten months for threats against three Kurds and Erna Solberg.

In the interview he says among other things that the terrorists in Paris are heroes. The terrorists massacred almost the entire editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo, 12 people. Krekar also says that people in Norway who had to find the drawing caricature of the Prophet Muhammad, deserves to die.



Kurder live at a secret address

– Finally, now I feel safer, said Halmat Goran when Krekar was arrested in February.

He is the man that Krekar is convicted of having threatened – and which was mentioned in the NRK interview with Krekar.

– Anyone who knows the punishment could kill him. I’ll send a gift to whoever kills him. Why should I not be happy about it ?, said Mullah Krekar on Goran to interviewing.

Asked for expert review

The investigation of Krekar was completed late April. Since then Director of Public Prosecutions asked an external expert assessment whether there are grounds for an indictment on incitement to crime and threats.

According to VG, the Swedish expert on terrorism and extremism, Magnus Ranstorp at Svenska defense högskolan investigated the case and Mullah Krekar’s statements uttered. Last week, expert assessment have been ready.



Convicted, expelled and prosecuted

Krekar was in 2012 sentenced to two years and ten months in prison for other conditions, including for threatening Erna Solberg and made death threats against three Kurds . He is also sentenced to one year in prison for having made threats against former Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik, this was intimidation he put forward today while the criminal case lasted for threats against Erna Solberg.

Krekar is formally expelled from Norway, but officials are prevented from sending him out because there is a risk that he will be sentenced to death in his home country.
