(Dagbladet): Former Chief Constable Torbjørn Aas in West Finnmark Police held today a lecture in connection with the launch of the book “Police Management.” Here he took partly up the subject of transparency in police.

– I have been informed to me that there are people high up in the police who will not be here today because one fears for the consequences, said Aas under post.

– And it’s not all right, he continued.

– Not many

After post clarifies Aas to Dagbladet that there is talk of a person who has given him this feedback.

– What impact is it this person fear fear?

– It does not know me. But it is certainly an expression that has come to me in the forefront of this collection, he said.

– Hope it’s a miss

In a major interview in today’s Dagbladet says Aas that he believes there is a lack of transparency in police. In addition, he calls for more inclusive attitudes.

He also says he witnessed police director Odd Reidar Humlegård expressed that he wished Aas should explain himself to Gjørv Commission.

Odd Reidar Humlegård responds in the same article that openness culture of police is something they continually working on.

– I want there to be transparency both laterally and upward, when it comes to such matters not handled by routine and guidelines, or are perceived as sexual harassment. Only in this way can we be better, he says, among other things.

In his post during a book launch today had Aas following comments to this statement:

– I also see that the police director in Dagbladet today quoted that he wants transparency both sideways and upwards in the police. I hope it’s a miss. I would certainly encourage that openness also going down, says Aas.

– Not a problem

Humlegårdsvägen says the following Dagbladet about this:

– I have no problems with all angles so I’m not sure why one discusses vertical or horizontal processes.

– We have written a letter about this to all police districts in which we urge to tell someone, so I did not experience that there is no problem continuing police director.

– What’s your response to what was presented in Dagbladet today that Aas experienced that you do not want him to explain himself to Gjørv Commission?

– I talked to him about here today, and we’ve commented previously. I have said and we’ve written that I could understand that he could experience it that way, but it was therefore not our intention, says Humlegårdsvägen.

– Agreed that we disagree

– But we did not understand why he was summoned, and we allowed ourselves then in “open sign” to ask to understand why he was called in. As he explained it was of course respected. It was not anything he would say that was problematic. It was to understand what Parliament intended, that we asked him, said police director continues:

– The second part of it is that I do not recognize me in that he was told repeatedly that he should not have any comment .

– So what do you mean not right?

– It has in this case he is a completely different perception of. It has not said, and I have not said it, says Humlegårdsvägen.

– We have agreed that we probably do not agree on what is right version, says Aas Dagbladet about this .
