Suspicious suitcase on Elverum was harmless – Dagbladet.no

Skysstasjonen on Elverum was Wednesday afternoon blocked off after the discovery of a suspicious briefcase. Nearly midnight, the police might conclude that the suitcase contained no scary.

Police bomb squad was sent from Oslo to examine the contents of the suitcase.

Bomb Group arrived 22.30 and quite exactly one hour later confirmed the police faced Østlendingen that suitcase contained explosives. The action was therefore called off, the newspaper said.

Police were notified of the proceedings at 17.30 on Wednesday afternoon. It happened as a result of a man in his 30s had put in the suitcase in the hold of a bus from Nettbuss on coaching and left the place. There was a passenger who observed that the man placed the suitcase in the hold, and who then alerted the bus driver, who in turn contacted the police, writes Hamar Arbeiderblad.

The police asked for tips from the public on the matter for help to find the man who put down his suitcase. To VG described police him as 180-185 centimeters tall and with dark blond, wispy hair. He rode towards Elverum center afterwards.

The police stated that there was no one in Oslo that appeared to pick up the suitcase, but the explanation for this was straightforward. – A person approached us and stated that the suitcase was hers.

It was to be picked up somewhere else, lit operations center in Hedmark police shortly before midnight.
