Minister got asylum snap, snap tax and criticism for cash from young AUF-ers … – Aftenposten

Utøya bathroom Saturday morning in the sunshine.

– To stand here before you today on this podium is something of the largest I have experienced in my life. I know both of something good and something bad, but it is important.

Besides powerful applause, hoiing and scattered cries of “Jonas Gahr Superstar” after great punchlines, could hardly a sound is heard during speech.

In addition to talking about Utøya in a post-July 22. Context, was international politics, climate, work, and election of the four pillars of his speech.

No new policy was launched by the party leader, but youth as certainly seem to be motivated.

– This is perhaps the most important summer shoutbox and Utøya is AUF property but also the entire Norwegian place in the struggle for democracy .

One of the enthusiastic audience, Esin Ciftci, it seems Støre said about international solidarity was the best in the speech.

– It was nothing special I did not agree with.

The case continues after the video of Støre’s speech.

See Jonas Gahr Støre’s speech at Utøya

Labour Party leader held his first speech to a AUF-camp on Utøya.

– Nest-second-poorest asylum policy

Although Minister received strong applause several times, did not get the eight young AUF-holders who sent challenges to the party leader less applause.

Hoda Imad, deputy head of the Akershus AUF, went into an intense attack on Labour’s asylum policy.

– There’s no point to boast of having second-deputy poorest asylum policy. And it is wrong to sit on the ridiculously poor asylum policies of the Conservatives and the Progress Party, almost thundered she pulpit.

She told even though his own father who fled Iraq.

– He was called fortune hunter. But while he would sacrifice his life for that I could stand here today.

Støre said in its reply that it was greatly to hear her story, and that he is very concerned about “humane municipalities “where refugees are welcomed.

– And yes, there are problems with integration, but the big picture is that it goes well. People come in school, at work and learn Norwegian, continued the party leader.

For Aftenposten afterwards says Hoda Imad that she is proud congress resolution of 10,000 refugees from Iraq, and also the agreement in Parliament about 8,000 refugees.

– But we live in one of the world’s richest countries, and it is selfish not to care more. Støre said still too much good about job municipalities should do.

– Støre commented not criticism you gave asylum policies of AP.

– No, he did not. But that’s okay, as long as he takes the advice to heart.

The cash-criticism

Agnes Viljugrein which Aftenposten wrote about earlier in the week, was very critical towards the Minister has previously defended cash support for yearlings.

– The cash benefit is a poverty trap which prevents integration and equality.

Minister stated that he was against the cash benefit for older children, but that the support he supports inter alia an offer to those who do not get day care.

Viljugrein was not so happy with that answer.

– I think Jonas should have been clearer. That you only get a little cash, really makes the situation worse, she says.

Mats Monsen from South Trøndelag also urged Minister to increase the tax in order to improve the welfare state, but even here the Minister convinced.

– I’m somewhere between Government that will reduce taxes, and those who want to raise taxes, he said.

– Do not agree, but you can not dismiss it

Jonas Gahr Støre told Aftenposten that although he will be greeted in a very generous way (his way to comment on how it is being greeted like a superstar journ.’s note.) , it is not only just To get to Utøya.

– I meet with tough demands, and they are very well prepared. It is not easy criticism to come.

– It was not like you were convinced to change the policy for the challenges you got from AUF-holders?

– AUF and Labour disagree on some areas, and my job is to relate to the congress. But I can not dismiss it as coming here.

– Are there any areas where AUF has made you politically to change my mind?

– The meetings I had with AUF has likely contributed to the commitment I have received for climate and environment. At the site has not AUF only been concerned with headlines, but they know their stuff and have insight.

After the speech took Støre a trip around the camp, and was greeted with cheers almost everywhere he went .

Back to Utøya – see the first part of the new video documentary:

– It was so important to fight against whatever terrorist said

Four years after the terrorist attacks will Munir Jaber back at summer camp on Utøya. Expectations are high.
