Since the Oslo police task force against pocket thefts was established, the number of thefts in the street in the capital plummeted.
The group has since 2012 worked purposefully towards this type of crime, and the figures for 2014 show that the decline continues.
It was in 2014 submitted 4704 fewer reviews for pocket thefts, which means a decline of 32.1 percent. Within two years, the number pocket thefts decreased by 44 percent.
