Government will not sell Flytoget this time – Aftenposten

On the Parliament’s discussion of the Government’s ownership report almost finished. Government and supporting portions Left and Christian Democrats agree which authorizations Government will get to sell the government’s holdings in business.

In this round the Conservatives, the Progress Party, the Liberal Party and the Christian Democratic Party agreed that the Government did not get authorization hill elge down in Flytoget, State Forest and Kongsberg Gruppen.

However, there majority to give the government authority to sell down to 34 per cent stake in Telenor. Authorization to the selloff in Telenor is adopted with assurances that critical infrastructure are safeguarded.

It will be carried investigations and reforms before they will consider new powers. The parties further agree to wait to take a position on the sale of Flytoget up railway reform is presented.

Both are satisfied

– We are pleased that the government parties in Parliament have listened to KrF and Left, stopping a number of proxies before important studies and reforms are implemented, says finance committee chairman Hans Olav Syversen (KrF).

– In Left we are satisfied that there is talk about either wholly or partial sale of airport train before the government comes with the long-awaited railway reform, says Liberal deputy Terje Breivik.

– We will still have control over infrastructure, natural resources, and technology and information related to national security, said Syversen.

Ownership must ensure climate

– In Left we are satisfied that there is talk about either whole or partial sale of the Airport Express Train until the government comes with the long-awaited railway reform. Any sell must be seen in context. We have throughout been concerned that government ownership strategy ensures sustainable solutions for future challenges in infrastructure and environment, says Breivik.

– It has also been important for the Liberals to secure a majority for the government to come back to Parliament with an assessment of which regulations and measures other countries have adopted to protect companies of national and strategic interest before any authorization may be given to reduce its stake in Kongsberg Gruppen ASA. Left is also satisfied that it is now being given assurances that the consideration of critical infrastructure are safeguarded if the state chooses to disinvest from Telenor, says Breivik.

Seller not forest

When terms Statskog government has written, both in the Government’s declaration and the message that they want to sell as much forest that have been acquired in recent years. State Forests in 2010 a large acquisition of forest properties to Borregaard and Orkla, of 1.1 million acres.

The coalition government planned a sale of approximately 600,000 goal, which will be completed in 2017. Now there is an ongoing research project to identify the models that can work for the sale of the remaining 500,000.

– The government should come to Parliament with a case concerning the privatization of forests to Statskog and we will take an assessment of it when the matter come. For KrF it is crucial that people’s right to move in the forest, and good access to hunting and fishing rights should be guaranteed, said Syversen.

Green ownership

KrF and Left writes in a joint statement that they are keen to ensure a future-oriented, balanced, green and responsible ownership policy.

– For Left and KrF it has been important to establish that the UN two-degree target should underlie government exercise of state ownership and ownership strategies of companies where the state is a major owner. It has so far not government parties have been willing to go along with Breivik says.

In contravention of the people

The Center is also pleased that the sale be postponed.

– Prime Minister said at one point that the debate on Norwegian or un-Norwegian was foolish. The big commitment that has been for Norwegian ownership shows that the people did not agree with her in it, he said.

– The government has lost the battle for Norwegian ownership. It is a stomach splash Industrial Minister when Parliament now stops much of her sales plan, says industry policy spokesman Geir Pollestad.

He is still critical that you enter to disinvest from Telenor. Pollestad believe divestiture is unfortunate without discussing what it means for emergency services and infrastructure in the future.
