Johan Ferner was born in Oslo on July 22, 1927. He was the son of Ferner Jacobsen and youngest siblings of three.

Until retirement drifted Johan Ferner the famous clothing store Ferner Jacobsen A / S in Oslo, which was founded by his father in 1926. The shop is now run by two of the founder’s grandsons.

Princess Astrid and Johan Ferner married in 1961 and had five children together and as many grandchildren. But they have always been present when private anniversaries and other events have been celebrated in the royal family, both in King Olav and Harald time.



Not of course

Princess Astrid and Johan Martin met first with mutual friends, then it was sailing that brought them together. He had including a silver medal from the Olympics in Helsinki in 1952. It was not obvious that the princess and clothing dealer would be allowed to marry. After a brief courtship stood wedding in Asker Church on 12 January 1961 with many foreign royalty and other prominent guests present.

Got villa

By Olaf got paired a villa on Vinderen in Oslo wedding gift, and Princess Astrid was given the title Princess Astrid, Mrs. Ferner . The 50,000 crowns she had annual Appanage she gave renounced, but continued extensively to undertake official representation tasks. As long as the Crown Harald was unmarried, there was no other woman in the royal house which could undertake such tasks.
