Police do not know the identity of the person. The fire department is still in place and the driver after extinguishing.
– We have ascertained that the person who is in the house, is dead. Nothing happens further investigation before it starts to get cold on the spot, says Henning Andersen, operations manager at Rogaland police.
Smoke divers found the person at 4:32. Emergency services got the message about the fire in the house Nyeveien Egersund one hour earlier – at 3:36.
– We got a message from a neighbor who saw flames from the house, he said.
Police, ambulance and fire department came out, but the house was ablaze when they arrived instead. Residents in the neighboring house was evacuated. The residence is a total loss.
The police do not know how many people live in the house and did not want to speculate about the cause until the fire department is finished after extinguishing.
– When the place is cold, we implemented crime technical investigations. The person will then be extracted and autopsied, says Andersen.
The house that burned is in Nyeveien in Egersund.
