– We got a tip that he was observed in Hansjordnesbukta in Tromsø. Police heading out to the site and find him. Man is thus arrested and transported to Asgard hospital. There was no drama, says operations manager Trond Amundsen NRK.
On Thursday night escaped man convicted of murdering his cohabitant father on Christmas Eve in 2013 from Asgard in Tromsø.
Police have since been patrols out to look after him, and they urged people to contact them if they observed the man.
– He is not regarded as dangerous for the public, but we still asks people to not make contact with the man directly, said operations manager Roy Tore Meyer NRK Thursday.
The man in 40s killed his cohabitant father in Tromsø Christmas Eve 2013 and was sentenced to compulsory psychiatric care.
In the indictment states that 66 -year-old was killed with several blows to the head. The man who was living with the deceased daughter, admitted to having killed his father in law, but acknowledged, however, not guilt.
It was Christmas morning in 2013 that police and ambulance pulled out to a municipal housing on Tromsø. Shortly after police announced that a man was found dead in the house. Two people, it now convicted murderer husband and deceased daughter was charged with murder or complicity to murder.
