(Dagbladet): The convicted murderer 43-year-old who yesterday escaped from a psychiatric hospital in Tromso, was tonight arrested.
– We got up at 20.21 a tip if he were observed outdoors in His Soil Gulf (of Tromsø) . We then ran out and arrested him – it happened without drama, says Trond Amundsen, operations manager at Troms Police, told Dagbladet.
43-year-old is now back at University Hospital of North Norway, department Åsgård .
– Not hazardous
The man was last year sentenced to compulsory psychiatric care after taking the life of his father-Christmas 2013.
It is unclear how 43-year-old managed to escape. Police consider him not as dangerous to the public.
Murder case received considerable attention. The convicted law, Asbjørn Marelius Hansen (66), was on a Christmas visit with him and his partner, but it came to conflict, and the older man ended up dead with impact damage in the head.
Police were investigated
The case is special because the police three times were called from the house in advance of the killing, both deceased and his daughter. Police caught not come out until they were notified by EMC, and the matter was reported to the Norwegian Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs. They dismissed the case in January last year, stating that the police were not to blame.In questioning confessed 43-year-old having beaten-law to death, but denied guilt. In December last year, the court concluded that he was psychotic moment in deed, and sentenced him to compulsory psychiatric care.
The man’s roommate was a while charged with complicity in the murder, but the charges were dropped.
