Hobby photographer living in Cold Sund, and is out every single day to take pictures in the home county’s .

Rune Olav Skoglund, meteorology consultant at the Weather Service in northern Norway, says that these clouds popularly called “the lens clouds.” In Latin is called Cloud type lenticular cloud.

– This type of clouds occurs due to high winds in height. Moist air is pushed up. The wind goes over the cloud, creating a kind almond shape, said Skoglund to NRK.no.

According Skoglund this is a Cloud type you can also see when it’s dark.

– Right now there are many great, unless such clouds over Kvaløya and Malangen in Troms. If you go out and get used to the dark for about 20 minutes, you get night vision and will see these clouds quite well. Especially outside the cities. People in Troms will probably also get a second chance to see dkisse clouds tomorrow morning, we’ll probably get the same weather conditions as, he says from his office in Tromsø on Sunday evening.

– Never seen such a large version

Skoglund says that cloud type occur quite often, but the images Bjorn Hansen has taken is unusual.

– I’ve seen clouds in many, many years, and has never seen such a big lenticularis like this. Photographer deserves praise for these images.
