“Soldiers’ me here not quite as” soldiers “me there – Document.no

As VG could enroll about last night, the people with connections to the Islamist environment around the Prophet’s ummah in Oslo said they would form a group called “Allaah soldiers.” By a statement states that the group is a reaction to the initiative that has resulted in the group “Soldiers of Odin”.

With its choice of symbols, one must conclude that Allah’s soldiers, who reportedly is in PST spotlight all together, represent an escalation of the situation:

Men’s sweaters, which supposedly should be the planned “uniform”, is decorated with the black flag of the terrorist organization Islamic State (iS) over the back, with a minor logo on the chest in front.

Yousef Bartho Assidiq told the newspaper that Soldiers of Odin acquires recruitment livelihoods of the extreme Islamism. So they are even basically a kind of reaction, and the tendency to tribalisering they represent, you get an additional turn with this, which is said to be

“in response to the lack of response from the State to that known extreme right will patrol the streets, which contributes to the Muslim minority in Norway feel unsafe. “

it all portrayed as a religious struggle, and brings to mind a bit going on the self-appointed sharia the police in London, or the Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir in Copenhagen and elsewhere, which has long marched in the public space.

“in response to the unbelieving grouping ‘Odin soldiers’s patrolling the streets , we Muslims have chosen to create a group to patrol the streets, initially in the capital Oslo, to forbid evil and call it good. “

the notifications of opinion and feeling exchanges in social media – in practice which concerned the newspapers – is as remarkable as the initiative. Some harselererer, perhaps in a secret and not entirely unwarranted hopes that the circus becomes a mayfly. Other portrays Odin and Allah’s soldiers as two sides of the same repulsive case. Still others prefer to think of something else and avoid dealing with the phenomenon, as the Progress Jan Arild Ellingsen, who had previously signified made a somewhat hesitant attitude towards Odin gang, doing as VG asks him for a comment.

Sorry, Ellingsen, but this is therefore not the time to pull the covers over your head, even though most Norwegians do it every single day with treningsnarkomanien her, overseas trips their and whatnot. It is more important than ever not only to “see what we see” and understand what we see, but also to put into words what we see.

It is also not the time to react to the phenomenon with ridicule with empathy or moralistic indignation – neither with the intellectual laziness that concludes with a moral equivalence between the two groups, without understanding neither the nature of each one or the dynamics that have brought them to the surface.

We must as best understand the situation cool and scientific. Can we relate sociological tribal tion, which is now a fact?

There will for many now be politically tempting to proclaim Soldiers of Odin scapegoats: only they had remained in the skin, this would not escalated . In isolation it right. The reaction (the reaction to overnight reaction) would not have come right now.

But it does not mean that the underlying conflict line did not exist, a conflict line that can not fail to come to concrete expressions. The fact is that a certain Islam takes up more space in a public space where it in living memory did not even exist, and that it does not always do it in any nice way.

Soldiers of Odin says that they will only protect against criminals, not that they would go after a particular religion, but Allah’s soldiers use it anyway as a pretext not only to defend themselves against what they choose to perceive as an attack on Islam, but also to proclaim their perception of Islam.

Friction is therefore inevitable, unless we give the indigenous population full yield in any conflict of interest, at least as long as Islam does not live on its own territory – something that hardly idea sounds like someone worse idea after this.

Is it really moral equivalence between the flirting with Norse symbols and the user of the IS flag, albeit not to fan?

 IS-flag

iS is thus a terrorist movement who commit human rights violations so abominable that one asks himself how sick imagination it is possible to have, and that for propaganda purposes has marketed atrocities of the worst violence pornography world has seen. This terrorist movement has not only its own state, it is also an internal enemy in our own Western societies, which has succeeded in taking many lives here.

I wonder if it now comes a reasonably proportionate avalanche of indignation the association of IS?

If you were to drive a symbolism that was morally equivalent to Allaah soldiers such, you have to proudly have highlighted Nazi symbols, or perhaps a portrait of Anders Behring Breivik.

But Soldiers of Odin do not present it, albeit there would be other signs of extremism than dorsal markings, and they may want to fight in vain against the gravitational pull of the dubious elements (ref. English Defence League). They say even that they do not want violence or extremism welcome, albeit credibility doubted when it in some are a kind of drained radical past. It’s known only Lars Gule, left-wing extremists and Islamists can return to bourgeois life after being on the radical kjøret.

A Sense of the Norse is nevertheless not limited to neo-Nazis. It’s something that occurs among the quietest people too, not least historical and literary interested persons. And from our own defense, we know that soldiers have boosted morale with the cry “To Valhalla!”. It got albeit the female defense minister to resign shaft, but it did anyway not soldiers to Nazis.

For the comfort increasing, there is little doubt that the Soldiers of Odin’s civil protection from hell which is now being blamed for that Islamists are potential candidates. Unfortunately, no one could with equal ease be criticized at the time Prophet Ummah recruited IS fighters in the streets of Norway. Was it somehow our own or “our own kind” sake that time as well?

The tributaries of confrontation which we are witnessing today, a confrontation which, after all, and in any case until further notice more concerns about words than about territorial control, highlighting thus a conflict that has been simmering below the surface and long.

These tributaries serve in a way to get it all on the table. It’s one thing or another with the whole spike that is almost appealing. How many there are really out there who are willing to patrol the streets with IS flag on your back? It is almost tempting to say “bring’em on, then we will see, then.” It may well be that the answer will be flattering for ordinary Norwegian Muslims. But could the answer still be appropriate to put a fright in some? Who is it actually “owns” the streets?

It will also be interesting to see how many who now runs the police to this latest initiative. Or how many people dressed in Santa hats will meet up in the streets where the Islamists had patrol to give them teddy bears or something.

At the deepest level are naturally both Odin and Allah’s soldiers just symptoms of a society that is not completely healthy . And the health are unlikely to improve significantly in the foreseeable future. It’s not just the police who are out in the public space. Spirit and thinking left it too for a good while ago.

But they are not equivalent symptoms. An exiled Iranian writes that it is Allah’s soldiers that will create insecurity in the streets, not Odin.

It’s also easy to imagine that a breeze young woman who is on his way home from the pub in miniskirts, will feel safer at the sight of Odin than Allah’s soldiers, although the latter should not do anything to her – or not but conjure her to dress modestly and add the alcoholic life behind. She would anyway know that the patrolling thinks the Islamic State is a dream society, which for her would be a nightmare.

This might be a very theoretical consideration. Most brisne young women in miniskirts take precautions these days.

There is also reason to believe that both squads mayflies and that Allah-boys concerned was a good publicity stunt.

Private vigilante groups was a hit in Italy in 2009. People were tired of all robberies and other crimes in the police solve urban jungles. Then as now were initiatives disputed. Interior Minister Roberto Maroni decided to accept vigilante while they prayed for public approval. The requirements were simple: No political symbols, no weapons, no dogs and no violence condemned? Patrol in the way, welcome. Some months later the phenomenon disappeared. Had it not been for all the world benefit either. Byvankere was clear that people who suddenly came out from lodges to patrol, had not rag bearing on when and where it was dangerous.

But the conflict will not disappear. Nor dilemmas. Should we allow Islamists patrolling with IS symbols on their backs? It is the practice to conduct propaganda for a deadly enemy. With a Norse symbol on the back does not it. By considering the two as the same case, relativized we IS. Are we subjected enough not to realize enough?
