He believes there are several reasons for scrapping the committee.
– Primarily inhibits the openness and debate in the pivotal issues, such as Norway military efforts abroad. That evades transparency on many of the largest and most important issues, means that parties have to justify their views in open ground before they have reached consensus, he said.
Solhjell believes secrecy means that the public can not access before the minister summons a press conference and presents it all is agreed.
– The different positions are not known – one broadcaster only decisions. Which means less debate and less journalism on important issues, believes Solhjell who serve on the committee he now will liquidate.
