Looking for missing boat outside Søgne – Aftenposten

Just around at 8:00 got JRCC Sola notification that it had been found an empty boat in the archipelago Søgne, writes Fædrelandsvennen.

– There is talk of an aluminum boat that had years out and the engine running. We go on this basis assume that there have been people on board, and that some may have tumbled on the water, said Bjorn Jarle AAMLID by JRCC southern Norway.

Just before 10 am police said that the boat probably has been stolen.

– We have been in contact with the boat owner, who has not had a boat today. The owner has not lent the boat to anyone, as far as we know. Everything indicates that it is irrelevant who has taken it, says operations manager Jon Kvitnes College police.

The boat is owned by Sjøstjerna kindergarten, but managed by Geir Erik Sødal. He is sure that someone has stolen boat after it was docked at Shanty-bua in Høllen Saturday.

– I have spoken with those who could conceivably have allocated it, then it is guaranteed stolen. My brother saw that the boat was there at 16 Saturday afternoon. So it’s probably someone who has taken a trip during Saturday evening, said Sødal to Fædrelandsvennen.

Mayday

The boat was found drifting by New Hellesund.

– The first resource is advancing on site. We have a boat from the fire department in Søgne, Redningsskøyta Bill of Mandal and Bendt R. Rasmussen from Kristiansand in the area. In addition, rescue helicopters and coast guard ship on the way, says AAMLID.

It has also been issued a mayday message.

– We ask boats in the area for assistance, and that they keep looking.

It’s been foggy in the area where the boat was found in the morning hours, but it is starting to ease now.

Høllefjorden

The time 9:40 searched both rescue boats in Høllefjorden while Seaking rescue helicopter searched the area by Mons Island.
