Lawyer Pål W. Lorentzen came into the case for a years ago.

– Luckily he find that the petition for reopening was sent. It’s a small bright spot, but it is very sad that he did not get to experience hopefully reopening of this case.

Lorentzen says they have worked intensively on this matter a whole year, with attorney Cato Schiøtz in tip. He also says that the case is going to take its time to come.

– New analyzes show that the technical evidence not conclusive proof force, but neither the formation of evidence holds.

Murder Night

The problems for Fredrik Fasting Torgersen began on December 1 evening in 1957. 16 year old Rigmor is found dead in the apartment building in Skippergata where she lives.

She is under a kjellerlem, on his back, with the one arm half under her. Someone has stacked old material on top of her and lit on.

About 600 meters away is a 23 year old Fredrik been arrested half an hour earlier on suspicion of bicycle theft. Then he charged and prosecuted for having followed Rigmor home, for having attempted to rape and strangle her.

– Felt acquitted

Professor of Criminal Law Ståle Eskeland has known Fredrik Fasting Torgersen for 20 years, and has been one of the strongest supporters over the years.

– It is tragic that he did not experience being acquitted. It is impossible that the case is not resumed, this time, in which case he will be acquitted, he claims.

Eskeland think it’s a fallacy that Fasting Torgersen is guilty even though his case has never been resumed earlier.

– The system has just repeated mistakes time after time after time. But he felt himself acquitted, because so many people have supported him – both lawyers and other experts, and ordinary people.

– Was not at the scene

A bite in the chest of the dead , pine needles in a pant board and feces of the shoe is the technical evidence lawyers are now attacking.

Also the formation of evidence is important in the petition for reopening that aired last week.

– There are very little likelihood that Torgersen may have been at the scene. A proper reconstruction would have shown that he never could have met Rigmor Johnsen that night, claiming Pål W. Lorentzen.
