Bergen and Trondheim are both among the three wealthiest cities in the world – TV 2

Consulting Agency McKinsey has set up a list of cities that are expected to experience economic growth.

Maritime industries

For Norwegians it’s second and third place are the most interesting. In second place we find Bergen, who in the past have been known for turbulence in the council, and a football team in 1st division.

Then it is a consolation for Bergen patriots that McKinsey sharp shod scientists predict the city as the second richest in the world by 2025.

There is growth in the industry related to oil and energy industry, marine and maritime research, which will lift Bergen economy further, says McKinsey.

– Bergen has a fantastic starting point and adventurous opportunities. Elements of Corporations ours is top notch in a global context, says Governing Mayor Martin Smith-Sivertsen (H) to BT.no.



Trønder technology

Third place is the Trondheim receiving. McKinsey points out that the standard for GSM telephony was formed in the middle of Norway.

It is precisely technology companies, with 550 start-up companies and 10,000 employees, which makes McKinsey believes Trondheim will be the world’s third richest city within the next ten years.
