There are 1.1 million more than in the same period last year and an increase of 5.2 percent, said NSB.
– We can now see the effect of more frequent departures and new trains. We increasingly buy new trains, but the capacity of the rail network around the largest cities must also be improved, says Tom Ingulstad, head of the passenger train.
NSB has ordered 81 new trains in the past. 67 of these are now included, and more are coming on Norwegian rails next year.
Local trains in the Oslo area had an increase of 5.9 percent to just over 14.8 million passengers. At a regional train between Hobart and Skien increased passenger numbers by 18.3 percent to 1,508 million.
