Remains found at Røvær – Aftenbladet.no

A man found Friday night remains a human east of Røvær in Haugesund.

After the police reporting found Saturday morning, they have received several inquiries from people who have missing at sea, hoping that it is their relatives who are now found, says operations manager Norunn Byrkjenes.

– So far everything is open. The remains may have come from afar into the sea. We just have to wait for identification work is done, she says.

– The bodies bearing signs of having been long and at this time it is not possible to say if it is a young or old person, male or female. The remains are transported to land and will be brought to Gade Institute for autopsy and it will be requested assistance from NCIS their ID Group to establish identity. The matter will be followed up by Haugesund police coming week, enlightened operations manager Jarle Utne-Reitan Haugaland and Sunnhordland police.

The remains were found at Tern Holmen, located east of Røvær. Røvær is located just outside the center of Haugesund.
