Tightening rules for social security tourists – TV 2

– I promotes Thursday a matter for government, where we tightens sharply into those who take their transitional benefit out of Norway. Until now it has been possible to bring the transitional benefit out of the country for six months. We cut the period down to six weeks, says Eriksson told VG.

He believes mitigation will make it easier to prevent abuses and to ensure that the activity requirement in the scheme are actually being complied with.

– We believe incentives are too poor to get to work if traveling to Lithuania and get Norwegian transitional over a six month period, says Eriksson

Transitional benefits granted to lone parents and to help ensure that they can be able to support themselves by working through example to take care of education.

– We retain six weeks, because the kids of course be able to go on vacation with their mother or father, without it they lose the benefit. (© NTB)
