18-year-old received serious damage of fireworks – Aftenposten

– We’ve had 102 incidents in the last 32 hours, but no serious injuries or incidents. It has been a quiet New Year’s Eve, said guard commander Stig Henning duaas in Oslo fire and rescue agency.

Fireworks use can lead to serious fires, and fire department were therefore on their toes throughout the New Year’s Eve. Fire trucks, which usually is parked inside the fire stations, were sent out on patrols in Oslo streets, so that they could be quickly in place if the incident was first out.

– It looks like there is only one fire caused by fireworks. It happened clock 23.22, then a shed in Frogner Seterveien began to burn. We sent three cars to the place because of the risk of migration, but quickly got control of the fire, says duaas.

Male (18) received serious damage

Around the country there were several violent incidents and accidents on New Year’s Eve. In the center of Oslo, a man was seriously injured after being knocked down outside a pub in Rådhusgata. In the center of Halden was a man in his 20s turned down. He was unconscious several times and was sent to hospital, according Østfold police.

In Bergen was an 18-year-old sent to hospital with serious eye injuries after an accident with fireworks. The accident happened on Åsane clock 00.07, when the 18 year old man should have run against a fireworks bomb at a party.

– A bunch were gathered. Some partygoers alerted us, says operations Frode Kolltveit in Hordaland Police to Bergens Tidende.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Kolbotn square in Oppegård had many gathered to celebrate New Year and it was forming brawl, reports Follo police. In Tønsberg was a man hit in the arm by a rocket.

Drunk children

Follo police could on Thursday also report that a binge drunk teenager had been taken care of. In Kristiansund had a 17 year old boy fired fireworks and then tried to run away from the police.

– He was flamboyant, was driven home to mother and reported, highlighting Romsdal and Nordmøre police.

Elsewhere notified police about full children. In Harstad police had to retrieve a binge drunk children under 16 years. Person was so drunk that he had to be sent to the emergency room, police said.

Fog

New Year’s Eve was fired fireworks at a value of 40 million, according to estimates from Statistics Norway. In Bergen was sent around 300 kg fireworks.
