Woman convicted of violence against their own children – Bergens Tidende

A woman in their 40s are in Fjordane District Court sentenced to 120 hours community service for beating her two children.

Both children were well under ten years and the abuse should have taken place over a period of four years, NRK writes.

it was the woman herself who took up family violence with child welfare, and explained that the difficult circumstances and exhaustion was why she at three specific cases should have beaten one child in the back. In addition to this hit woman kids with flat hand in mind estimated between 20 and 30 times in a period of six months. The child’s father should not have been present during the events, but both children were often present when the other was beaten.

The mother prayed to end even if using, and the children were put in foster care.

the court states that violence against children is not of the most serious character, but the children’s explanations show that violence has left its mark.

Plea from prosecutor was 60 days in jail and 60 days on terms, but the court said community service was more appropriate. The woman is also ordered to pay 50,000 kroner in compensation to each of the children.
