Two men received concrete wall over in Åsane – Bergens Tidende

Both are driven to Haukeland hospital with crush injuries.

All emergency services who managed to a work accident in Saudalskleivane in Åsane around 15 o’clock on Wednesday where a heavy concrete wall had fallen over two men.

Landscape pinched

– It has been set up forstøtningsmurer over another wall or wall. Then they enter the concrete behind this wall, and then loosened a concrete block, said Morten Kronen, operations manager at Hordaland police.

One man fell from the wall, and the other remained trapped under the concrete block.

– Both men have crushing and run to the emergency department at Haukeland hospital, said crown.

– Excellent Job by police

Fire Master in Åsane, Åge Espelid, came to the place shortly after police had gotten loose the two men.

– the police did a great job of getting lifted up the wall and freed the casualty. They borrowed a jack from a neighbor to lift the brick wall that must have been 600-800 kilo. Resourceful efforts made enough that this apparently went well, says Espelid.

– The two men were both conscious when we got to the place. We got bandaged them and cared for them for ambulance and air ambulance arrived at the scene.

Wooden pallets took away pressure

Probably there were some wooden pallets that were on the wall that made men did further damage.

– the block that tumbled out was around 80 centimeters wide and about two meters high. How we in the fire service perceived situation this could have been worse if these pallets not hatte taken away the worst pressure, says Espelid.
