This is Norway’s most expensive municipality to stay in – TV 2

It is the fourth consecutive year that Gjemnes municipality is chosen as the most expensive to live in.

– Although we see significant changes on the list, the top and bottom remained stable in four years. Sola thrones common as top making it the cheapest municipality to live in, while Gjemnes again must thank the bottom position, says Reid Krohn-Pettersen, chief economist at the Norwegian Family Economy.

The figures from the Norwegian Family Economy refer to bottom of the case.

SSB counts

Norwegian Family Economy basing analysis on figures from Statistics Norway and look at how much an average household pays in tax on water, sewage, refuse, sweeping and any property tax.

This represents 5.269 kroner in Sola, against 21.008 million in Gjemnes.

– in the debate over municipal mergers such lists be interesting to watch. How much higher are the fees in neighboring municipality? Or paid so low fees because the drains are not maintained, so there is a giant bill a little bit into the future? asks Krohn-Pettersen.

Towns far down

The towns in Norway is not at the top of the list.

Housed in 29th place, Stavanger 51. space, and Bergen on 68th place of the country’s cheapest municipalities to live in.

Ten cheapest municipalities: Sola, Sandnes, Sandefjord, Hå, Klepp, Lyngdal, Aure, Rælingen, Andebu and Bærum.

Ten most expensive municipalities: Gjemnes, Flakstad, Notodden, Granby, Nord-Odal, Nome, North Aurdal, Klæbu, Hjartdal and Salangen.
