Norwegian families investigated for abuse of the au pair scheme – Adresseavisen

In 2013 the government introduced a quarantine system for host families who break the au pair scheme. This means that they are not allowed to have an au pair in the time they have imposed quarantine. The quarantine period varies for reasons of violation, writes Dagens Næringsliv.

The 45 host families considering whether they should be imposed quarantine. Last year ila UDI quarantine for seven host families.

– The most common violations often use pay and working hours. But we see the whole spectrum now that we have a number of cases pending, from the very serious cases that also handled by the legal system to more dubious violation of the terms, says unit manager Steinar Rotevatn in visa and au pair unit Applicants.

According to regulations, it is only allowed to have an au pair at a time and work time shall not normally exceed five hours per day and not exceed 30 hours per week. In addition, the au pair get free room and board and pocket money / pay shall be 5.400 Norwegian crowns gross per month.
