Ten households are early Good Friday morning still evacuated because of explosion after a fire broke out in a barn on Helgelandsmoen in Bukserud Holy Thursday evening.
It was not people or animals in the barn when the fire started.
the barn was completely ablaze, police said. It created a safety zone of 300 meters around the barn, partly due to a gas cylinder located inside the burning building.
– We are working on identifying where a bottle of acetylene is. Some composite bottles have gone by, while the fire department is working to cool down on a diesel tank of 2000 liters. There is no great danger that the fuel tank will go in the air, said operations Thov Thorsrud in South-East police.
He says that the fire department also has flushed a house near the barn to cool it down, but that there is no danger that the house should catch fire.
Several residents near the barn had Thursday night evacuated due to the fire. Seven of these were moved to a hotel, while some found another stay.
At 04 o’clock Friday morning police said that people from three households can move home, but that ten addresses must remain evacuated because of explosion hazard.
– This may take some time. Should there be clarification concerning acetylene bottle, it can take up to 24 hours before the evacuation repealed, says Thorsrud.
One person was sent to the emergency room after having inhaled smoke, but no casualties due to fire . Nor were animals in the barn.
