Acquitted first – convicted of sexual assault in the woods – Dagbladet.no

A 25-year gammmel man is in Gulating Court of Appeal sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in the woods between Teng and Langvannet in Eigersund Rogaland in March 2015.

The man carried the assault according to the judgment by taking a stranglehold on woman and threatening to kill her.

25-year-old was acquitted in Dalane District court against professional judges vote, but the prosecution’s appeal against the assessment of evidence prevailed in the court of appeal.

Both the defendant and the aggrieved are asylum seekers and have attended Norwegian together.

the court pointed out that the victim appeared far more credible in his testimony than defendants, who after first having denied everything has changed explanation repeatedly.

the woman is also awarded redress damages of 125,000 kroner.
