Man tried to run down police officers in Grimstad – Dagbladet.no

A 40 year old man tried Saturday night to run down two police officers in Grimstad. The man was later arrested after jumping out of a window on the second floor of his house.

It was just before the clock 2 early Sunday that police were tipped off that a car had backed another car at a gas station in Grimstad and then stabbed from the site. Police sent out a patrol which eventually managed to track down the culprit.

– Police made himself known, but the man feinted and drove straight toward the police officers, who had to jump away, said operations manager Per Kristian Klausen Agder police District told NRK.

the police managed to track down the man, but when they arrived at his house, he refused to open the door. Instead, he ran up the second floor and jumped out of a window. Police managed however to get hold of the man shortly after.

– He is now charged with drunken driving and for having stabbed from a traffic accident without making himself known, says operational manager.

the man was sent to hospital for treatment of his injuries, but was eventually discharged and put in jail.
