Person Forde confirmed dead – Bergens Tidende

70-year-old who has been missing since Maundy Thursday at 15, was found dead by searchers Friday.

It was late Thursday night launched a large search party in and around Viefjellet Forde after a 70-year-old man was reported missing from his residence on Thursday.

Friday at 12:32 made a Sea King helicopter findings of a person. The person is confirmed dead, police officials on Twitter.

– It is confirmed that it is the 70-year old man we sought after, said operations manager Trond Hatlenes the police operations center in Sogn og Fjordane.



Extensive exploration action

the crews did Friday morning search along the paths towards Viefjellet Forde. Civil defense, fire department, Red Cross, Norwegian Rescue Dogs and the police participated in the search.

– Many volunteers have also signed up, said Hatlenes earlier in the day.

The clock 11:34 notified police on Twitter that a Sea King helicopter is on its way to the search area. It was helicopters that took the man clock 12.32 Friday.

The relatives were notified before the police announced that the man was found.





Detective death

It is not clear what happened to the man.

– It’s under investigation, police said.

the man was last seen at his home in Forde at 15 o’clock Thursday. He was reported missing clock 19.58.

– The family looked for the man in the house, but there he was not. His bike is gone, but there is nothing that indicates that he allegedly planned to be away for an extended period, said operations manager Per Rimmer NTB Thursday night.

The man’s bike was found Friday morning.

Fog and clouds

Soleide where search area began, a large and popular skiing area with many alternative paths. According to descriptions of it should be 2.5 kilometers from Soleide to the top of Viefjellet.

The police cordoned off the area to the trails where 70-year-old probably has moved.

Fog and heavy clouds in the area complicated the search.

Red Cross in Sogn og Fjordane has had around 20 crews at work in the exploration area.
