Ministry of Justice has sent the new proposal for consultation. The extension of the requirement of residence is the result of cooperation between government parties and FRP Right and Left parties support and KrF, newspaper VG.

– Today given usually permanent residency after three years. Permanent residence permit involves an extended protection against expulsion by such criminal acts and violations of immigration law. With this proposal, the foreign national must have a residence for at least five years before they can get permanent residence, says Justice and Public Security Minister Anders Anundsen (FRP) said.
