During the wage negotiations were NHO, LO and YS agreed a joint letter to Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) where they asked for changes in layoff rules.
– When we get a letter from the social partners in the run wage settlement, we tend to take it seriously, says Solberg said.
The changes mean that firms pay wages reduced from 20 to 10 day layoff, and that the maximum unemployment benefit period is increased from 26 to 30 weeks.
– Now the parties through a very moderate wage given their contribution to securing jobs and corporate finance. It increases the authorities for their own measures to promote competence and sustainability in business, said NHO director of employment policy Svein Oppegaard Thursday.

LO and NHO was Thursday agreed a general zero settlement year bargaining – and a boost for low-paid NOK 1.75 per hour.

That government has now listened to LO and NHO, making it easier for businesses to face hard times, says LO leader Gerd Kristiansen. She notes that the LO and NHO has conducted a historical moderate wage and thus made important contributions to securing jobs and corporate finance.
– We have a tradition of taking responsibility in difficult times. Then it is good that the government follows up with measures that make it easier for businesses, Kristiansen says.

– It was right that we tightened in 2013, when there was a shortage of labor in many sectors. In such a situation it is natural that no locks in labor. But now we have another labor, she says to NTB.
– We see rising unemployment and a short term decline in some sectors in the supplier industry, though there are signs of improvement during the autumn and next year. It is natural that companies also use an opportunity to adapt, says Solberg.
