Reluctantly Hansson ensures ordinance lifejacket – Aftenposten

A somewhat unusual alliance of SV, the Conservatives and the Progress Party opposes a Western imposition, but the parties reigns just over 84 of Parliament’s 169 seats.

Rasmus Hansson the Green Party is the one that secures injunction majority. Last year the party against a similar proposal.

– It has been a thorough debate in the party. We are split almost down the middle, but choose to listen to the clear advice of Redningsselskapet and police, says Hansson said.

Something reluctantly

Hansson does not deny that he himself belongs minority in MDG.

– There is a fine tradition in Norway for that exploring nature on its own responsibility and in harmony with nature. Whether one diver, hunts with sharp weapons charged or go skiing in the mountains, says the state “use hue and good trip.” Meanwhile, a lifejacket decree could help to save lives, says De Grønnes one parliamentary representative.

The obligation to lifejacket only applies to boats operating. The injunction will not apply when a person moves between boats and boarding moored or anchored vessel.

SV critical

Leisure boats over 8 meters are also exempt from west injunction.

– This means that children who are part of a motor boat is 8.5 meters long, must not use the west. It appears not as logical to me, says SV Torgeir Knag Fylkesnes said.

Last year SV majority for a mandatory use of the west in boats with children on board. But now is not the rule formulated so anyway.

– We are opposed to regulation of behavior when the action does not go beyond the second and it’s older people that are involved. To prohibit anything disagreeable and enjoin all one is for, is not something SV advocates, says Fylkesnes.

Glad decree

Industry Committee Chairman Geir Pollestad (Sp) rejoices over west injunction.

– This is an amendment that could save lives already this summer. The goal is to reduce the number drownings and an imposition on flotation is the most effective measure to achieve it, he says to NTB.

Conservative Ove Trellevik believe it to travel on the sea a clear and sunny summer day is something quite different than being aboard a yacht at sea.

– Focus on changing attitudes is a better way to go. Each one must be aware of their responsibilities when doing leisure activities at sea, he said.

A proposal from KrF about lowering blood alcohol limit at sea to 0.2 to enhance safety at sea, did not otherwise majority.
