– Annelise has been a clear and important female Conservative and specially engaged in equality and social policy, says Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H).

While she was fall 2013 Norway’s second female prime minister. Saturday she mourned Høeghs demise.

– It is with sadness I received the message about Annelise Høeghs demise, says Solberg in a written comment said.

She says it’s always sad when people go away, but points out that Hoegh was only 66 years and died too soon.

– I have had the pleasure of working closely with Annelise already from the day I entered parliament. Annelise will be missed, the Prime Minister said.

– Important feminist

Conservative General Lars Arne Ryssdal says Hoegh meant a lot to the party in several areas, and that she was a central health politician 20 years in Parliament. Hoegh was parliamentary representative for the Conservatives from 1981 to 2001.

– But she was also one of our main feminists and an important voice for the party in a time of upheaval when abortion and gender issues were discussed, Ryssdal says to NTB.

Former Conservative politician Kaci Kullmann Five is built on the same.

– She will also be remembered for its central role in Conservative feminist group. This work eventually came to characterize much of the Conservatives’ equality policy, she says to VG.

– Huge loss

Until she passed away, was Hoegh chairman of the Center for Studies of Holocaust and Religious Minorities (HL-center). She was a member of this board since 2010 and set in his second term. The center describes her as a very keen and enthusiastic chairman.

– It is a big loss for us all. She has been an excessive chairman with great dedication, said Deputy Chairman Tordis Borchgrevink on the center’s website.

Hoegh was married to the former Conservative politician and parliamentary president Jo Benkow, who died in 2013.

Hoegh passed away Friday, but death was known first day.

– Got the sad news that Annelise Høegh is dead. Having known and worked with her for many years, I’m going to miss her, writes Oslo city council leader Stian Berger Røsland (H) on Twitter.

Ryssdal explains that Hoegh was local politically active until three or four weeks ago.

– She was also impressive loyal and showed great love for the party, also when she stood on in their elected positions for the party until the very last, he says.
