Government dropper student requirements for private schools – Aftenposten

Friday adds Minister Torbjørn Røe Isaksen (H) proposals to Parliament several amendments to the Independent Schools Act. But the original proposal to increase student limit from 15 to 30 students that a private school will receive funding has been deleted.

The Minister says opposition from supporting party Christian Democratic Party (KrF) and also from government partner Progress (FRP ), has been crucial.

– We thought it was prudent to raise pupil border, but we now pulls requirement because we want to get as broad a majority as possible for the new law, says Isaksen said.

He also points out that the proposal received very harshly in the consultation from a variety of agencies.

If the proposal had gone through would 30 to 40 of today’s private schools stood in danger of being closed down.
