Sailboat in distress outside Bergen: All five are hoisted aboard a rescue helicopter – Dagbladet.no

LATEST: All the five people who were aboard the Polish sailboat, is hoisted aboard a rescue helicopter flew out to assist, said JRCC NTB eve at 23.

(Dagbladet): underway Saturday evening a large-scale campaign to save the passengers aboard the sailboat “Magnus Zaremba» outside Marstein in Oslo, after the crew has requested assistance.

– They must consider themselves if they want to be evacuated. Offer expires when rescue helicopters must return when they run out of fuel. The first boat, Coast Guard vessel KV Ålesund is on their way, but it is not arrived until tomorrow morning, said Displayed.



Two vessels

Another two ships sent towards the place. None of the persons on board is damaged.

Dagbladet was informed earlier that there were 34 people on board, but it turned out to be talking about five people. Nationality of those on board are not known.

– There is a serious situation, we are working full with getting people out there now, said Cecilie Øversveen at JRCC earlier.

Life Director Asbjørn Viste told NTB that there are five people aboard the 18-meter sailboat.

– We got a message from a clock 19.09 sailboat that had broken mast and that takes into some water. We have received updated message that there are five people on board and not four. None of them is injured, but they have requested evacuation.



Later than planned

Two Sea King rescue helicopters and two ships are sent towards the place, among them coastguard vessel KV Ålesund. Bad weather causes the first rescue helicopter arrives later than planned, type NTB.

– The first helicopter will be promoting the clock 21.17. The strong winds and waves are between six and ten feet tall, said Displayed.

Hordaland Police informs NTB that they have not been engaged.

– HRS has not notified us or requested assistance, said operations Kjersti Eidsnes news agency.
