The current farm Thurs the 2nd swine herds are now bands added to prevent any spread of infection, NRK.

There is a preliminary result from samples that have given cause for suspicion. The final result becomes clear over Easter.

– There are samples from the Food Safety Authority’s annual monitoring and mapping program that has given us suspected. We still aim to keep this bacteria away from Norwegian swine herds. If the sample is positive, it will be undertaken redevelopment at the affected farm. That is complete disinfection of the farm and slaughter of all the animals, says Karen Johanne Baalsrud, head of animal health FSA said in a statement.

It is unclear whether there is any connection between this suspicion and earlier detections of MRSA -smitte in Central Norway and Northern Norway. (© NTB)
