Eight out of ten ski resorts received instructions from the Labour Inspectorate – Aftenposten

– Number of violations of the legislation is high. There is talk of significant deficiencies in training and selection of safety representatives, labor contracts, working hours and overtime, said Director of Labour Inspection Ingrid Finboe Svendsen.

In a press release informs Arbeidstilsynet that they will prioritize supervision of accommodation and restaurant industry the next two years, after the findings of ski resorts in winter.

It was conducted 100 inspections of ski resorts and 20 inspections of restaurants and bars attached to objects.

Arbeidstilsynet reviewing typical fracture missing overtime pay, lack of employment, lack of training for safety representatives and missing registration of working on every single employee.

– In both coastal towns and mountain areas are many businesses operating within a very short and hectic season. Follow-up of orders and reactions is therefore a problem. Seasonal operation is also a challenge when it comes to employment contracts and employers’ needs for flexible labor, says Finboe Svendsen.

Several supervisors have been completed along with the FSA, the police and the Tax Administration. Around 60 percent of the audits was unannounced.
