Reviewer Christian church to the police – NRK

– There are more uncomfortable and difficult for a child to experience abuse than it is for us adults to report it, says Lene Sivertsen Centre against incest and sexual abuse as reviewer church in Tysfjord.

After 11 people came forward in VG in June and told about the abuse in the small municipality of Tysfjord in Nordland, many questioned how this could happen and continue for so long. In all the newspaper has gained knowledge of 47 stories from men and women who all claim they have been abused.

– the police will take care of the matter now. We have full confidence in the police, something more is there to say now, responding Eivik to NRK, and stressed that he did not want to comment on review in more detail.

Asked for forgiveness

17. June hosted The Laestadian meeting a meeting where they asked forgiveness from abuse victims, as well as family and close. This has Sivertsen noted down, but still believes it does not take away the fact that they have done something serious and punishable by avoiding alert.

– I think you should not have to forgive about one not fancy and needed. This is society’s responsibility, not the individual, says Sivertsen.

– Natural part of the investigation

Nordland police confirms to NRK that they received a review of the the Laestadian assembly discusses avvergingsplikten.

– This review is part of the extensive investigation now under way relating to abuses that have been uncovered in Tysfjord. The duty to avert ongoing violence is a natural part of the investigation into all cases of abuse, and will be so in the investigation of Tysfjord cases, said police lawyer Siv Remen NRK.
